In 1988, he joined Budgetext as an Account Representative for California. His sales talent was evident as he grew his territory into the most productive in the country, resulting in a series of progressive positions within the company.

An active member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of College Stores until 1996, he continues to deepen his relationships with bookstores, indentifying their unique needs and crafting solutions that ultimately drive revenue for Budgetext today. One such solution is the account-level marketing program, “Buyback and Beyond.” This program, a first of its kind, aids stores in their efforts to raise student and faculty awareness of the benefits of buying and selling used books.

Chris has pioneered advances in the process and productivity of purchasing books from stores and students. He conducted the first scanned buyback in the country, which later became the industry standard buybacks. He also devised the first drive-through buyback in the country, offering students a convenient experience.
